I see a deep intimacy between poetry and painting. Painting is poetry that becomes so by the way the painting has been lead into being. In the poem substance becomes permeable to thought; material and idea fuse in a receptive open space in constant reformation.

Born and brought up in Leicester, Janet Waring studied art in Florence, living and working there for almost a decade, prior to which she had gained an honours degree in botany from Manchester University. She currently lives and works in the UK
