Janet Waring's work codifies in painting, drawing, sculpture and installation a personal notion of shared descent. Her interest is in resolving works that embody an unwillingness to categorise knowledge or formulate theories, her approach bringing to mind Keats' concept of negative capability.

A British artist, born in Leicester and currently based in the UK having  studied painting in Florence, Italy for over a decade. She is an artist Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, reflecting an explicit interest in natural history and she holds an honours degree in botany.

She exhibits both in UK and abroad and has given solo shows in a number of public galleries.
